Terry Winters

Terry Winters (* 1949 in Brooklyn , New York City ) is an American painter .

Life

Winters graduated from the Pratt Institute in New York in 1971 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA). It was only after ten years that the artist had his first solo exhibition in 1982 at the Sonnabend Gallery in New York , where he continued to exhibit for many years. Today (2011) his works are owned by major museums and his work has been exhibited worldwide.

Winters is represented in New York by the Matthew Marks Gallery . He has been a member of the American Academy of Arts and Letters since 2013 .
