The Terstappen GmbH & Co. KG, headquartered in Duisburg was a car rental and car dealers in Germany. Through license partnerships with the Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group , the company was integrated into a global network of stations and was able to broker rental vehicles worldwide.
Market presence
In 2013, Germany had a fleet of around 3500 vehicles at around 40 locations, 25 of them in North Rhine-Westphalia . This included cars, vans and trucks up to twelve tons. There were rental stations at the airports in Frankfurt , Munich , Cologne , Düsseldorf , Stuttgart and Hamburg . In 2008 Terstappen opened nine more stations in Hamburg , Mannheim , Landau in the Palatinate , Heidelberg and Frankfurt . In 2009 the car rental company Terstappen opened further city locations in central locations, including in Cologne, Hamburg and Munich.
Over 250,000 vehicles were available at over 1,500 locations in around 70 countries worldwide.
In addition to car rental, the Terstappen Group was also active in the areas of forwarding and logistics.
history
The car rental Terstappen was founded in 1961 by Hubert P. Terstappen and in 1987 by Hubert M. Terstappen jun. accepted. In 2002 a license partnership was concluded for the Thrifty Rent A Car brand and in 2004 one for the Dollar Rent A Car brand . In both cases the licensor was the Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group . In 2007 the legal form was changed from KG to GmbH & Co. KG . In 2013 there was a merger with the rental car company Buchbinder Rent-a-car.
