use

tert -Butyl vinyl ether is used in the manufacture of other chemical compounds. It can be used as a catalyst for the synthesis of 3- tert- butoxycyclobutanone by reacting ketene with zinc (II) chloride . It also serves as an intermediate for the vinyl functional monomer. It is also added to petrol to improve the knock resistance , serves as a protective group and is used as a copolymer in a wide variety of applications.
