Tess Haubrich (born April 1, 1990 in Sydney , New South Wales ) is an Australian actress and model .

life and career

Tess Haubrich was born in Sydney as the daughter of a print shop owner and a piano teacher. She has a brother who is three years her junior. She grew up with him in the Northern Beaches , a suburb of Sydney. She attended Pittwater High School in Mona Vale and then the Sydney Church of England Co-educational Grammar School as a secondary school. During her school days, she started modeling, which not only took her to Australia, but also to Hong Kong, France and Germany. Among other things, she worked for the designers Céline and Jean Paul Gaultier . She then studied acting for two years at The Actor's Center Australia .

The 1.80 m tall actress made her acting debut in front of the camera in 2009 with an appearance in the short film Vinyl . Also in 2009 she took on a small role in the Australian soap Home and Away , which she played in a total of 17 episodes until 2014. At the same time, she had engagements in smaller films until she appeared in a small role in the action film Wolverine: Weg des Kriegers in 2013 . In 2015 she appeared as Lisa Carmichael in a central role in the science fiction horror thriller Infini on the side of Luke Hemsworth . She gained greater fame in 2017 for the role of Sarah Rosenthal in Ridley Scott's Alien: Covenant . Also in 2017, she took on one of the leading roles in the second season of the Wolf Creek web series . She also appeared in the Chinese science fiction action film Bleeding Steel , which was shot in Sydney, on the side of Jackie Chan in an antagonist role.

In 2018, Haubrich appeared in the Australian Netflix miniseries Pine Gap as Jasmina Delic in a leading role. She then appeared in the short-lived series Bad Mothers before she was cast as Samantha McKenna in a recurring role in the US action series Treadstone .

Tess Haubrich lives in the Newport suburb with her husband Nicholas Gell and their daughter Juniper, who was born in 2015.
