history

As early as 1996 there was a Thai international broadcaster in Europe that could be received via satellite, the pay-TV broadcaster Thai Wave . At the beginning, it mainly broadcast video clips from Thailand , as well as news and soap operas from Thailand. The broadcast time was every day from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. The program was marketed in Europe by THAI WAVE International Broadcasting Co. Ltd., Hauptstr. 100, 76461 Muggensturm. The analog decoder used by Thaiwave, an F Sagem Syster G1 decoder from this time, was identical to that of Premiere and Canal + , the "white key" that you had to put in the decoder to decode the program was striking. After about a year, Thai Wave ceased operations because demand was too low. Thai TV Global Network then went on air in a new satellite location and digitally. The station was also based in Phaya Thai , a khet (district) of Bangkok, and the studio and program content of Thai TV5 was used.
