Thalach headwaters

The Thalach source area is a natural area (110.40) in the foreland of the Anlauteralb in the foreland of the southern Franconian Alb in the Franconian Keuper-Lias-Land in the south-west German step country .

It is bordered by Thalach and Schwarzach. In the north it borders on the Rother sand plates (113.50), in the east on the Freystädter Albvorland west of the Schwarzach (111.00), on the Staufer Eisensandsteinberge (110.41), in the south on the Anlauteralb (082.27) and the Anlauter-Braunjura funnel (082.28) and in the west to the foreland of the Weißenburger Alb (110.32). The area is used for agriculture and forestry.

Politically, the area belongs to the Thalmässing market and the town of Heideck . It includes the districts of Laibstadt , Abertzhausen , Rudletzholz , Tiefenbach , Kolbenhof , Alfershausen , Rabenreuth , Ohlangen and Thalmässing.
