Thalke Deters (born September 5, 1987 in Westerstede , nee Thalke Bitter ) is a former German handball player .

Career

Thalke Deters initially played for SG Neuenburg / Bockhorn. In 2003 she moved to VfL Oldenburg , where she became the North German A-Youth Champion in her first year . From 2004 she played with the second women's team of VfL in the regional league , the 2nd handball Bundesliga and from 2010 in the newly founded 3rd league . From the 2012/13 season, the 1.87 meter tall back player was part of the Oldenburg Bundesliga team , where she was mainly used in defense. In February 2015, she announced that she would end her career after the 2014/15 season.

Private

Deters is a trained physiotherapist , her brother Johannes Bitter is a handball goalkeeper for Bundesliga club TVB 1898 Stuttgart . Her brother Renke Bitter plays for VfL Edewecht.
