Thallium thiocyanate is an inorganic chemical compound of thallium from the group of thiocyanates .

Extraction and presentation

Thallium thiocyanate can be obtained by reacting thallium (I) nitrate with potassium thiocyanate .

It can also be obtained by reacting ammonium thiocyanate solutions with thallium hydroxide solutions.

properties

Thallium thiocyanate is a crystalline white solid. It has an orthorhombic crystal structure with the space group Pbcm (space group no. 57) . Above 90 ° C it changes into a tetragonal crystal structure with the space group I 4 / mcm (space group no. 140) . Template: room group / 57 Template: room group / 140
