The Bridge is the second studio album by Ace of Base . It was released in November 1995 by Mega Records / Arista Records . It reached number eight in Germany and high chart positions in many, especially European countries. It reached number one on the charts in Sweden and New Zealand . It reached number 66 in the UK and 29 in the US . The album sold over five million copies.

It is the only album of the group to which all four group members contributed noteworthy compositions. First, the singles Lucky Love and Beautiful Life appeared , both of which made it into the top 30 of the Billboard Hot 100 .

After the previous album reached number one in the US charts in 1994, main producer Jonas Berggren started working on the successor after returning from vacation. His sister, ace-of-base singer Linn Berggren , said, “I wanted some old friends who are producers on a very low level ... I wanted to give them the chance to be on this record. But it didn't go the way I wanted it to and there was no time to repeat it. It taught me a lot about how to act when you are in the situation of leading who you are working with - that you have to lead too. "

The Allmusic website gave the album three out of five stars. The record sounds like its predecessor, but the songs are overall better.
