The Charlatans is the fourth studio album by the British band The Charlatans . It was released on August 28, 1995 and ranked number one on UK Top 40 albums .

The album

After the success of their debut album Some Friendly (1990), their first number one album in the UK, The Charlatans had some difficult years. The Madchester boom to which they belonged lost popularity and was replaced by Britpop . The following two albums had only moderate success. The two single pre-releases from The Charlatans album, Crashin 'In and Just Lookin' / Bullet Comes , only met with moderate public interest. In the meantime the Britpop with the figureheads Oasis and Blur had appeared. The single Just When You're Thinkin 'Things Over benefited from this mood and brought the Charlatans a comeback success. The Charlatans debuted at number one on the UK Top 40 Albums Chart.
