history

After the two protagonists (then still as MC Eric and DJ Milo) had worked together under the name Freshman 3 from 1987 , they founded the duo The High & Mighty in 1996 and released their first singles the following year, including the masturbation themed track Hands On Experience . Your 1999 Rawkus published debut album Home Field Advantage ( home advantage ) was accepted positively by music critics and considered some with extremely laudatory words. Chris Maruhn wrote in a record review: “ Home Field Advantage is an intoxicating b-boy document - in the truest sense of the word. A perfect touchdown. ”The album on which Mos Def , Kool Keith , What? What? , Cage , Pharoahe Monch , Evidence , Defari and Eminem appeared as guests, received five out of six possible "crowns" from the German hip-hop magazine JUICE . It peaked at number 193 on the Billboard 200 chart .

In 2001 The High & Mighty formed the group Smut Peddlers with rapper Cage and released an album called Porn Again , also on Rawkus. The High & Mighty then left the label to strengthen their own label (Eastern Conference). Most of the other publications appeared on the latter. From 2002 to 2005 three more albums followed by the duo, but they could not build on the success of the debut album.

From 1998 to 2004, the duo was also responsible for four samplers , the "Eastern Conference All Stars" series. Well-known artists such as Kool G Rap , RA the Rugged Man , Eminem and members of the group The Weathermen appeared as guests on the albums .
