The Kick Inside is the debut album by Kate Bush .

history

When the album The Kick Inside was released in February 1978 with the help of David Gilmour and some musicians from the Alan Parsons Project , Kate Bush was 19 years old. This album contains songs that Kate Bush had composed when she was 13 years old and recordings that were made when she was only 16 years old.

Even before the album was released, EMI released the single Wuthering Heights . This reached first place on the British pop charts. The piece of music was inspired by Emily Brontë's novel Sturmhöhe (original title: Wuthering Heights ). Kate Bush appeared with the song in Alfred Biolek's first broadcast from Bio's Bahnhof on February 9, 1978 and was immediately celebrated as a discovery in Germany. The single reached 11th place in the charts in the Federal Republic of Germany, the album The Kick Inside 21st place. In Great Britain the album reached the 3rd place in the album charts.
