chronology
Didn′t It Rain (2002) The Magnolia Electric Co. Trials And Errors (2005) under the new band name Magnolia Electric Co.

The Magnolia Electric Co. is the ninth and final music album of songs: Ohia under the previous band name. It is the last work that consists mainly of longing, introverted ballads like "Farewell Transmission", "Just Be Simple" or "Peoria Lunchbox Blues" (feat. Jennie Bedford ). It was produced in 2003 by Steve Albini (also produced albums by Nirvana , Bush and PJ Harvey ) in Chicago.

Afterwards, front man Jason Molina gathers a new constant group around him, while he had previously worked with frequently changing musicians and Songs: Ohia was more of a solo project on his part. With the new band Magnolia Electric Co. , whose name refers to this album, the sound becomes livelier, more country-heavy, louder and more rock.
