The Mahones are in 1990 Kingston , Ontario , founded Irish-Canadian folk punk - band , they called their musical style as a mix of Irish folk , punk and rock .
Band history
The Mahones were founded in 1990 by Finny McConnell. Originally it was supposed to be a band project that was only launched for St. Patrick's Day in 1990. Due to the positive feedback during and after the performance, McConnell decided to continue the project permanently. Over the years the band released more than ten studio albums. According to their own statements, their music is influenced by The Clash , The Who and Hüsker Dü, among others . Various pieces have been used in several films and series, such as The Fighter , Irvine Welsh's Ecstasy and Dog Park in the soundtrack or as theme music.
