history

2005 to 2011

The Majority Says was founded in Linköping in 2005 by Jonathan Lennerbrant, Emil Berg, Mathias Jonasson and Lovisa Negga ; then under the name Maricon. In 2008 the name of the band was changed to the current band name The Majority Says . In addition, the band was strengthened this year by Timo Krantz. In autumn 2010, Lovisa Negga and the rest of the band members agreed to go their separate ways. By this point, The Majority Says recorded four EPs and appeared on three talent shows. Singer Hanna Antonsson and bassist Axel Engström joined the band in 2011 to replace Lovisa Negga.

In the following years, The Majority Says spent a lot of time in the Kingside studio and worked on their first tracks, including their first EP Best Night Ever, which was released on February 14, 2012. Noticed for the first time the band but in 2011, as their song 114 in a TV campaign for Viasat film in Scandinavia gefeaturet was. On October 31, 2012 - but only in Scandinavia - their debut album Under Streetlights was released.

The sextet from Sweden has already toured in Scandinavia and Europe, but above all in Germany. It got the opportunity to play at some festivals like SXSW (Texas), Reeperbahn Festival and Berlin Music Week (Germany), Bergenfest (Norway) and Peace & Love (Sweden).

Her songs were used for the American TV series Pretty Little Liars and The Real L Word . The American fashion brand Houghton NYC also used the song Kings of the Night in a campaign for their spring 2013 collection. This enabled The Majority Says to increase their awareness in the USA. In June 2013, the band also produced a cover of the song Little Things by the boy group One Direction for advertisements for the supermarket chain Lidl . The second EP Between Love and Simple Friends followed on December 6 of the same year .

The Majority Says' second album was released in August 2014.
