The Marble Man , bourgeois Josef Wirnshofer (* 1987 in Erlstätt ), is a German folk-pop musician and singer-songwriter who regularly appears under the same name with an accompanying band , meanwhile with a permanent cast (Jonas Übelherr, Boris Mitterwieser, Michael Zahnbrecher and Daniel Mannfeld).

Life

Wirnshofer grew up in the Traunstein district . He recorded his debut album Sugar Rails in the attic of his parents' house. When it was released in 2007 by the Regensburg label Schinderwies Productions , the music magazine Spex called it "an absolutely exceptional achievement, a stroke of genius".

In 2008 he went to Munich to study . In 2010 he released his second album with the Dresden label Kumpels & Friends Records with the title Later, Phoenix ... , which in turn received excellent reviews. In 2013, the Munich label Redwinetunes released his third album, named after the Munich district of Haidhausen , where he lived for four years.

In addition to Angela Aux and The Dope , The Marble Man was attributed to the style of the so-called "New Weird Bavaria".
