The More I See is an English metal band from Peterborough formed in 2002.

history

The band was founded in the spring of 2002 by Graham "Gizz" Butt, who was already a live guitarist with The Prodigy and English Dogs , and later with Sabbat , and the guitarist Gavin King. A short time later, bassist Lee Churchill, singer Chad Sunderland and drummer Alex Cummins joined them and completed the line-up. In the same year the band played on the Summer Breeze . A short time later, the German label Modern Noise released the EP Don't Look Now… I'm Living . The group then reached a contract with SPV . Then the band went to southern France to record their debut album The Wolves Are Hungry . The sound carrier was mixed by Andy Sneap . The album, which was released in 2004, was not commercially successful, however, which caused the band to lose their contract with SPV again. In the following time it became quiet around the band while they were looking for a new label.

In 2008 The More I See reached a contract with Transcend Records , about which the album The Unholy Feast was released that same year . With a changing line-up on drums and bass, appearances followed with Exodus , Breed 77 and Warrior Soul . At the end of 2009 the cast changed completely around Butt, whereby the average age of the members was quite low. Singer Peter Ellis was the only one of the new members who had already passed the age of 20. Other members included 19-year-old guitarist James Cluer, 18-year-old bassist Drew Markwick and 16-year-old drummer Harri Wright. With this line-up, the band recorded their next album, which was released in 2010 under the name Tread the Darker Path . In the same year the band also played at the Download Festival and Hammerfest . After the group had reached a contract with Earache Records , the next album The Disappearing Humans was released .

style

According to Christof Leim from Metal Hammer, the band on The Wolves Are Hungry play a mixture of modern and traditional metal. The mood of the songs is reminiscent of modern radio rock . The music is comparable to the later works of Anthrax , as well as Alice in Chains and a little SOiL . The catchy choruses would have parallels to Galactic Cowboys . Marcel Rudoletzky from Metal Hammer found in his review of The Disappearing Humans that James Cluer's vocals are reminiscent of James Hetfield 's and that songs like Rise Up and Start could have come from the Black Album .
