The Mystery World Tour
The Mystery World Tour is the third world tour of Metal - Opera Avantasia by Tobias Sammet . It started on April 12, 2013 in Belgium and ended on August 10, 2013 in England . On their first leg, Avantasia played special three hour shows in Switzerland, Italy and Germany. It's the longest tour in the band's history. Like the The Metal Opera Comes to Town Tour , however, it was supplemented by a performance at the Wacken Open Air the following year.
history
After Tobias Sammet announced that he would end Avantasia in 2011, the album The Mystery Of Time was released in 2013 . Tobias Sammet wanted to tour with the band again for this album. In order not to miss many songs, it was announced that Avantasia would play live for over 3 hours. However, Sammet said on Twitter that not all shows would be affected.
It was unclear whether the line-up would stay the same until the end, as there were overlaps with Pretty Maids concerts, and therefore Ronnie Atkins was not available for a few concerts. Therefore, after the concert in Moscow on June 23, the setlist was changed. Ronnie Atkins was not replaced, however. He returned at the concert in Japan, but fell again at the Rockharz Festival due to a fall.
For the performance at the Full Metal Cruise in Holland, Eric Martin played an acoustic solo concert on board the cruise. He was accompanied by Sascha Paeth .
On July 27, 2013 the band played at the Rock of Ages Festival in Seebronn . Since the confirmation for this performance came spontaneously, Oliver Hartmann was replaced by Arne Wiegand at this concert.
