The New Tenants is a Danish short film from 2009 .
action
The homosexual couple Peter and Frank have just moved into a new apartment. Frank sits at the table smoking and philosophizing about death and suicide bombings. Peter doesn't want to know anything about it, he just wants to eat in peace. Before an argument starts, the doorbell rings and Frank opens the door for his neighbor, an elderly lady, who wants some flour so that she can bake a cake for her granddaughter Irene, who is visiting her. In doing so, she simply begins to tell that Jerry, Peter and Frank's previous tenant, was only recently murdered or committed suicide, but is at least dead. Peter is so annoyed by the story of the old lady that he simply takes the next best bag of white powder and gives it to the old lady, just so that he can eat in peace again.
When she is gone, Peter and Frank's argument starts all over again and is only interrupted by the ringing again. Jan shows up with a wrench and is looking for a Jerry because he suspects that Jerry slept with his wife. Peter and Frank affirm that they neither know a Jerry nor would they ever sleep with a woman. But Jan no longer hears that, as he howls in front of the two monologues about how hard he is trying to restore his marriage and the honor of his wife. The doorbell rings again. Jan goes to open it and is shot in the head by Zelko with a shotgun. He is now looking for the heroin that Jerry had previously stolen from him and hid with him.
Frank and Peter deny everything. Also when it comes to having found some kind of bag full of powder. The doorbell rings again: The elderly lady is at the door again and angrily shouts what kind of flour she has been given and why her daughter Irene is suddenly behaving so strangely. Zelko shoots her through the door and asks Frank and Peter again how interesting it sounded what she just said. But before he can kill the two of them, he himself is shot from behind by an intoxicated Irene. She is so beside herself that she doesn't even understand what has just happened and suddenly faints.
Frank is so taken with himself that he lights himself and Peter a cigarette and then dances out into the world with him.
