The Quicksteps are a ska band from Aachen that was founded in 1999.
history
The band was founded by the members of three Aachen ska bands that joined forces in 1999. Then there were the drummer Holger, the saxophonist Bernd, the guitarist Olaf and the singer Kai, who had all played other styles of music before, such as jazz , funk , reggae , punk or hardcore.
Her debut album Move! with 19 songs was released in 2002. In 2004 the second album followed, entitled Trapped . In addition to appearing in Germany , the ten-piece band toured Belgium , the Netherlands , Austria , the Czech Republic and France .
After several line-up changes between 2006 and 2009, the third studio album Gonna Run was recorded in 2010 and released in January 2011. At the same time, the first two albums, which are now out of print, were published as a compilation in download shops.
Recently, there have been more and more concerts in Aachen and the region, for example at the Südstrasse Festival, the September Special or with The Blue Beat in Jülich.
