The Royal Concept (short TRC ) is a Swedish alternative rock - band from Stockholm . It was founded in 2010 and consists of David Larson, Filip Bekic, Magnus Robert and Frans Povel.
history
2010–2012: beginnings
The music group was founded in 2010 as a concept store by David Larson, Filip Bekic, Oscar Nilsson and Frans Povel in the Swedish capital Stockholm and released their first single Damn a little later . In 2011, the band was renamed The Royal , whereupon Oscar Nilsson left the band and was replaced by bassist Magnus Robert. After a few other single releases, the band's tracks were often played on the national radio station Sveriges Radio P3 , which led to the fact that a larger audience became aware of them for the first time and they were promised several smaller appearances in the region, such as at the cultural festival Peace & Love 2011.
2012–2015: breakthrough
In 2012 the band members changed their name again to The Royal Concept , under which they operate to this day. In June of the same year, the self-titled EP The Royal Concept was also the first album release . They then went on two concert tours through the United States as the opening act for the British bands The Wombats and Wolf Gang . A year later on September 11, 2013, they released their debut album Goldrushed . The previously released single Goldrushed from this studio album is also found in the soundtrack of the video game FIFA 13 , while the song On Our Way , which is also included on the album, can be found in the soundtrack of the 2014 version of FIFA, which was released a year later.
Since 2015: further successes
With the release of the EP Smile , created in collaboration with Tony Hoffer , on August 21, 2015 and a subsequent tour through North America , some of the members decided to turn their backs on the band for the time being. After major commercial successes and the inclusion of the single Smile in the soundtrack of FIFA 16 , the musicians soon worked together again and released another EP in September 2018 called The Wake Up . At about the same time, they toured the Asian region .
On May 24, 2019, The Man Without Qualities was the band's second studio album and the first since they split from their long-standing label Republic Records .
