The Treatment is a British band from Cambridge .

Founded in 2008 by Dhani Mansworth, the group plays hard classic rock , inspired by bands such as AC / DC , Kiss , Mötley Crüe , Aerosmith , The Cult , but also the Sex Pistols .

history

The Treatment was founded in 2008 by the then 15-year-old drummer Dhani Mansworth. The second member, the oldest at the age of 18, joined Ben Brookland as a guitarist. After bassist Rick Newman ("Swoggle", also 15) and his school friend Tagore Gray (guitar) joined the band, the entire band moved to the Mansworth family house in Cambridge to fully concentrate on their band. After several months of searching, they found their singer in Matt Jones, who moved in with the other members in Cambridge a week after joining.

When Derek Olivier of Powerage Records visited The Treatment in March 2010, he was so excited that she immediately signed it. Under the label , their debut album This Might Hurt was recorded in the Barnyard Studios by Steve Harris of Iron Maiden .

In 2011 they were part of the Powerage Tour of Great Britain with New Device , Million $ Reload and Lethargy . There was free entry to all appearances.

In the same year the group switched to the major label Spinefarm Records , which re-released their debut album with two bonus tracks. This was followed by a tour supporting Alice Cooper in the fall . In spring 2012 they played in the opening act for Steel Panther . An appearance at the Download Festival will follow in summer . They were also part of "The Tour" for the bands Kiss and Mötley Crüe and in the UK they opened for Thin Lizzy in the autumn .

On May 14, 2012, the EP Then and Again was released with five cover versions of various titles from the 1970s. The EP was recorded again at Barnyard Studios by Steve Harris.

In 2014, Running with the Dogs was the band's second full long player. On March 29, 2015, the band announced that singer Matt Jones was leaving The Treatment. On May 7, 2015, Mitchel Emms and Tao Gray were confirmed as new band members. Then the band played some secret shows. On July 25, 2015, The Treatment played at the Steelhouse Festival, alongside Y&T , Nazareth and UFO . In September 2015 the band was a special guest on the UK tour of WASP

On March 18, 2016, Generation Me, the band's third long player, was released, on which one turns a little more to the American hard rock sound of the 80s à la Kiss and Mötley Crüe .

In September 2017, singer Mitchel Emms left the band to focus on other projects. He was succeeded in December 2017 by Tom Rampton, who has a greater vocal resemblance to the original singer Matt Jones.

On March 13th, 2019 the fourth album Power Crazy was released , which again brings an earthier sound that is strongly reminiscent of Krokus and AC / DC .
