The Year's Best Horror Stories

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Year's Best Horror Stories was an annual anthology by the US publisher DAW Books .

When Donald A. Wollheim and his wife Elsie founded this publishing house in 1971, the first publications - along with The Annual World's Best SF and The Year's Best Fantasy Stories for the genres of science fiction and fantasy - included The Year's Best Horror Stories .

For this purpose, Wollheim was able to win Richard Davis as the responsible editor in 1971 , who held this position until 1973. After a break of two years, Gerald W. Page took on this role until 1979 and Karl Edward Wagner continued this series until his death in 1994.
