Theener is a district of the municipality of Hagermarsch , which has merged with the municipalities of Hage , Berumbur , Halbemond and Lütetsburg to form the municipality of Hage .

Surname

The name of the Hagermarsch district was first documented as Thener in 1787 . The official spelling Theener has been in effect since 1818 . The name derives from Theen ago, a Losholz that was used for triggering of land shares. Theener is therefore an area in which the allocation of shares was regulated by lot - a practice of distributing new land that was common until the 16th century. We also find Theener as a hallway name in the Krummhörner between Upleward and Manslagt .

A small town center is located at the junction of the road to Hilgenriedersiel .
