Theobald Keyser

Theobald Keyser (born July 12, 1901 in Bochum ; † December 11, 1984 in Essen ) was a German mining engineer and manager.

Life

Theobald Keyser obtained the Abitur at the state high school in Bochum. Subsequently, he was more diligent in mining at the Constantin collieries and president . He then studied at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg , the Technical University of Berlin and the Clausthal Mining Academy . In Freiburg he was active in the Corps Hasso-Borussia , where he was reciprocated in 1921.

After completing his studies as a qualified mining engineer, Keyser embarked on a career as a mining official. He completed his traineeship in the mining district in Dortmund . After passing the miner's exam, he worked in the coal and potash department of the Reich Ministry of Economics from 1928 to 1936, most recently as Oberbergrat and head of department. Since 1933 he was also in the Prussian Ministry of Trade and Industry. In 1936 he went to the Dortmund Oberbergamt as head of department. From 1937 to 1948 he was head of the Westfälische Berggewerkschaftskasse, although he only formally held this position from 1939 when he was called up for military service until his return from captivity in 1948. During the war he worked in the economic departments of the occupied territories in Belgium, Romania and, most recently, in Yugoslavia as head of the military administration and head of the economic department.

In the year of his return from captivity, Heinrich Kost appointed him to the German coal mining management. There he and Hans Korsch headed the General Secretariat for the implementation of Law No. 27 , which was responsible for negotiations with the Allies on the unbundling of the coal and steel industry. After the dissolution of the German coal mining management, he became general manager of the Mining Trade Association in 1953 and of the Ruhr Mining Association in 1956 . In 1966 he retired. Keyser was a sponsor of the creation of the Mining Archive .
