Life

Schenck, the son of Rudolf Schenck , took part in World War I after graduating from high school in Münster (Westphalia) in 1918, and after his release from English prisoner-of-war he studied iron and steel engineering in Münster, Breslau and Aachen. In Aachen he became a member of the Corps Montania. After graduating, he received his doctorate in 1927 as Dr.-Ing. and initially devoted himself to research. In 1928 he joined Krupp in Essen. He later moved to the Charlottenhütte in Niederschelden. In 1928 he became a board member of the Bochumer Verein .

In 1950, Schenck accepted a call as director of the Institute for Metallurgy at the Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule Aachen. He was also chairman of the Association of German Ironworkers .
