Theodor Dirr

Theodor Dirr (born November 8, 1857 in Anhofen , † April 8, 1931 there ) was deputy party chairman of the Bavarian Farmers' Union and member of the Weimar National Assembly in Germany .

Life

Theodor Dirr attended elementary school from 1863 to 1870 and then from 1870 to 1872 the advanced training school. He then attended the agricultural winter school in Augsburg in 1872/73 and the trade school in 1873/74. After his military service from 1877 to 1880, he took over his parents' property in Anhofen in 1885. He was of the Catholic faith.

Theodor Dirr had been mayor of Anhofen since 1892 and a member of the Günzburg district committee and the Swabian district administrator. In addition, he took over the position of second board member of the agricultural district association Günzburg and was a member of the agricultural district committee for Swabia. Dirr was a board member and chairman of various professional organizations.

From 1919 to 1929 he was second chairman of the Bavarian Farmers' Union and for this from 1899 to 1905 and from 1911 to 1918 a member of the Bavarian Chamber of Deputies . He was supposed to be the first Minister of Agriculture in Bavaria. A corresponding motion was decided in the Provisional National Council. In the list of ministers of the Segitz cabinet approved by the Council Congress on March 1, 1919, Theodor Dirr was designated as Minister of Agriculture. The cabinet never achieved office and dignity, but was overrun by the revolutionary events.

On April 10, 1919, he was a participant and speaker in a cross-party rally in the Günzburger Stadtgarten against the Bavarian Soviet Republic .

From 1919 to 1920 he was a member of the Weimar National Assembly.
