Anhofen is a district of the municipality of Bibertal in the Swabian district of Günzburg ( Bavaria ).
location
The village is on the open ground in the southeast of the municipality, ten kilometers from Günzburg . It is crossed by the district road GZ 5 .
history
The parish village is mentioned in 1109 as "Annenhoven" in the so-called Wettenhausen Homiliarium , a deed of donation from the Wettenhausen Monastery . In the 13th century Anhofen went to the bishopric of Augsburg , which mostly transferred the manorial rule to Ulm citizens as a fief . In 1506 Apollonia Besserer and her husband Georg Kraft sold the village to Jörg Rieter von Bocksberg (see Herrschaft Bocksberg ), who kept it until 1588. In 1649 it was in the hands of the Bavarian Colonel Johann Heinrich Freiherr von Lapière. From this it went to von der Halden, then to the barons von Lasser and finally to von Deuring. In 1805 Anhofen came to the Lords of Reck.
On the occasion of the Bavarian territorial reform , the formerly independent municipality of Anhofen with its districts Emmenthal and Happach was merged with other municipalities to form the unitary municipality Bibertal on May 1, 1978 .
