The Lourdes grotto is not included in the list of architectural monuments. It is located in a forest on the southwestern outskirts of Echlishausen above the beavers. The grotto is made of tuff from the Swabian Alb near Rammingen . It was built by Joseph Hintermayer from Bühl . According to documents, the construction of a Lourdes grotto on the place "Im Rosenberge Nr. 629" started on July 7th, 1898. The place was a donation from the brickworks owner Zacharias Hoch to the church foundation Echlishausen, which was then also responsible for the maintenance of the grotto. At that time, the construction cost 950 marks and was financed through donations, the offering box and a foundation. The inauguration took place on August 28, 1898. World icon
