St. Leonhard (Echlishausen)
The Catholic parish church of St. Leonhard in Echlishausen , a district of the municipality of Bibertal in the Swabian district of Günzburg ( Bavaria ), was built in the second half of the 19th century. The church at St.-Leonhard-Straße 27 is a protected architectural monument .
architecture
The church was built from 1865 to 1869 according to plans by the Augsburg architect Max Treu in neo-Gothic style. The single-aisled brick church is covered by a spear cap barrel. The drawn-in, three-sided enclosed choir spans a network ribs vault . The square tower with a pointed helmet over triangular gables stands on the north side .
Furnishing
The uniform church furnishings come from the time it was built. The altars carved by Karl Heinle from Weißenhorn and the pulpit are close to the so-called carpenter's Gothic.
The organ was completely overhauled after ten years of standstill in 2012 and put into operation again. It is identical to the Wattenweiler organ .
