Theodor Schöllig

Theodor Schöllig (born January 20, 1892 in Mudau ; † July 1980 ) was a German painter.

Schöllig was born the son of a master blacksmith in Mudau . After leaving school, he learned the saddlery and upholstery trade in Walldürn . He first worked as a journeyman in Frankfurt am Main , where he attended a painting school in his free time . The first exhibition of his pictures took place here, most of which show landscape motifs. As a traveling journeyman he also came to Mainz , Pforzheim and Karlsruhe , where he continued his education as a hobby painter in evening classes at the arts and crafts schools. In his studio in Mudau he created countless watercolors, oil paintings, charcoal, red chalk and pen drawings and pastels, many of which were purchased by the Kurpfälzisches Museum . A street in Mudau was named after him.
