Theodor Sinram

Theodor Sinram (also: Heinrich Theodor Sinram ; * December 22, 1840 in Hanover ; † September 10, 1896 in Hamburg ) was a German mathematician , educator and school founder and author .

Life

Heinrich Theodor Sinram was born in the royal seat of the Kingdom of Hanover and attended the local community school . Just a few weeks after the Battle of Langensalza , the young man joined the Prussian artillery as a volunteer at the age of 17 . During this time he attended the Hanoverian NCO School for three consecutive winters, where his talent in mathematics emerged.

Sinram then found his first job in Hamburg at the local civic surveying office. Later he was employed in the Hanseatic city as a teacher at the local Polytechnic College of Pape.

During the founding period after the founding of the empire , Heinrich Theodor Sinram opened his own specialist school for mathematics, physics and drawing in 1876, which was soon very popular .

In order to perfect his own knowledge, Sinram went to Göttingen to listen to the lectures of Moriz A. Stern at the university there .

In April 1896 Sinram stopped his activities due to an internal ailment in order to undergo an operation, the consequences of which he died on September 10, 1895 in Hamburg.

Sinram published in particular in the Archives of Mathematics and Physics published by Teubner in Leipzig and Berlin . With special consideration for the needs of the teachers at higher education institutions, various essays dealing with questions of elementary geometry , algebra and series theory.

  1. In the source of the 1986 chronicle, “April 1896” is probably accidentally mentioned as the cessation of Sinram's activities; although he is said to have died on September 10, 1895.
