Therdsak Chaiman ( Thai : เทิด ศักดิ์ ใจ มั่น , pronunciation: [ tʰə̂t-sàk ʤai-mân ], born September 29, 1973 in Suphanburi ) is a Thai football coach. He is currently coaching third division team Phuket City FC
Career
society
Therdsak spent his youth at FC Suphanburi , his home club, before moving to FC Royal Thai Navy in 1994 . There he played for the first time in the Premier League from 1996 to 1997 . At the end of the 1997 season he rose with the club in the second Thai division and in 1998 moved to the first division club FC Osotspa M-150 . With his new club he reached the final of the Thai Association Cup in 1999. The final was lost 2-1 to FC Bangkok Bank . A year later, however, it worked with the first title of his career. Again he was in the final of the FA Cup, but this time with his new club BEC-Tero Sasana , to which he had switched in 1999. He was also able to win the championship with BEC-Tero in the same year. Therdsak was able to gain first experience at international club level in 2001. In the 2001 season he played with BEC-Tero in the Asian Cup Winners Cup . After the end of the 2001/02 season he was loaned to Singapore to the FC Singapore Armed Forces .
In the short period of his loan, from February 2002 to October 2002, he was instrumental in winning the championship with 27 goals. Winning the championship of the BEC-Tero Sasana from the 2001/02 season qualified the club to participate in the AFC Champions League 2002/03. It was Therdsak's season. He reached the final of the Champions League with the team and was in the starting line- up in both games against the Al Ain Club . The final was lost, but Therdsak was voted the most valuable player of the Champions League season. After winning the ASEAN soccer championship with the Thai national team in 2002 and being voted the most valuable player of the tournament, he had reached the height of his career at the age of 29.
In 2004 he left BEC-Tero for the transfer fee of 65,000 dollars and moved to Vietnam to NHĐA-Thép Pomina in the V-League . He signed a three-year contract that would bring him $ 180,000 in salary in three years. Problems with the abdominal muscles, however, allowed only a few uses. The club was relegated from the V-League at the end of the season and Therdsak moved to Singapore to join the Armed Forces, where he had already played a season in 2002. Since 2005 with the club, he won three more championships, 2006 to 2008, and celebrated two successes in the Singapore Cup in 2007 and 2008. In 2009 he was with the Armed Forces in the qualification for the finals of the AFC Champions League . In the first round, the team met the PEA from Thailand. The game took place at the Rajamangala National Stadium in Bangkok . After a 1-1 draw in regular time, it came to extra time. Therdsak scored the all-important 2-1 for his club with a penalty kick in the 97th minute and paved the way for the next round. He also scored a goal in the final play-off game against PSMS Medan from Indonesia . It was 1-0 in the 36th minute. FC Singapore Armed Forces won 2-1 in the end and became the first club from Singapore to enter the AFC Champions League. In 2009 he won the Singaporean championship again together with the team. He then went back to Thailand, where he got a contract with Chonburi FC.
National team
He began his national team career in 1997. He played 59 times for Thailand and scored 25 goals. The first big tournament he played was the 1998 ASEAN soccer championship . In the preliminary round match against Indonesia , he scored his first goal in the national team. With the team he finished fourth in the tournament. Four years later he led the national team as captain until winning the ASEAN championship. At the end of the tournament he was voted Most Valuable Player of the Tournament. In 2003 he reached third place with the team at the King's Cup . He played his last major tournament in 2007 at the Asian Football Championship . He failed to score and Thailand already failed in the group stage. After the tournament Therdsak ended his national team career. In October 2009 Therdsak was nominated again for the national team at the age of 36. He made his comeback in the qualifier for the 2011 Asian Football Championship against Singapore on November 14, 2009. He was substituted on in the 60th minute of the game. He managed to score 2-0 for Thailand in the 75th minute.
