Thomas Auler

Thomas Auler (born February 1, 1959 in Osnabrück ) is a German politician ( FDP ). He is the deputy state chairman of the FDP Rhineland-Palatinate and was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament from 2006 to 2011 .

Life and work

Thomas Auler attended the elementary school in Riesweiler from 1965 to 1971 and the secondary school in Simmern from 1971 to 1973 . From 1973 to 1975 he attended the commercial school in Bingen . Subsequently he was employed by the Rhineland-Palatinate police . 1980 to 1982 he trained as a detective . In 1996/97 he attended the technical college and this was followed by studies at the Technical College for Public Administration in Rhineland-Palatinate . From 1982 to 2009 he worked in various locations in Rhineland-Palatinate, most recently in Simmern.

politics

Thomas Auler joined the FDP in 1998 and became chairman of the Rhein-Hunsrück district association in 2002 . In 2004 he became mayor in Riesweiler and Councilor of the municipality Rheinböllen . He was elected to the district assembly of the Rhein-Hunsrück district, where he is parliamentary group leader for his party.

In 2006 he became a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament . He was represented as a full member for his parliamentary group in the Interior Committee, the Legal Committee, the Prison Commission and the Election Examination Committee. In the commission at the state commissioner for data protection, he held the office as deputy chairman. His mandate ended after the state elections in 2011 , as the FDP missed re-entry into the state parliament.

On May 6, 2012, Thomas Auler stood as a candidate for the mayoral election of the Simmern municipality as a non-party candidate. His goal was to get the runoff election on May 20th. However, he missed this with 19.61% of the votes against his competitors Michael Boos and Andreas Nikolay.
