Thomas Böhni

Thomas Böhni (born December 24, 1964 in Stein am Rhein ) is a Swiss politician ( glp ) and from 2011 to 2015 National Councilor from the canton of Thurgau .

biography

Thomas Böhni completed an apprenticeship as an agricultural machinery mechanic with a professional Matura, then studied mechanical engineering and did a postgraduate degree in biotechnology . He has founded various companies in the field of solar energy and biogas and is currently managing director and owner of Solarzentrum Ostschweiz GmbH. Böhni lives in Frauenfeld and has three children.

He started his political career in 2008 as the Grand Councilor of the Canton of Thurgau. In the National Council elections in 2011 , he was elected to the National Council, making him the first GLP National Council of Thurgau. Thereupon Böhni resigned from the cantonal council in order to concentrate on his office as national councilor. On the occasion of the Swiss parliamentary elections in 2015 , he lost his mandate. Thomas Böhni is also a founding member and board member of the Green Liberal Party of the Canton of Thurgau.
