Christian Beat Lohr (born April 5, 1962 in Kreuzlingen ; entitled to live there ) is a Swiss politician ( CVP ).

biography

After graduating from the canton school in Kreuzlingen in 1983 , he studied economics at the University of Konstanz . Professionally, he works as a journalist , publicist and is a lecturer at various universities of applied sciences as well as a board member in disabled and disabled sports associations. From 1994 to 2008 he was President of Plusport Disabled Sports Switzerland . He has been a member of the Pro Infirmis Executive Committee since 1999 .

He started his political career in 1999 as a councilor for the city of Kreuzlingen. From 2000 to 2014 he was a member of the Grand Council of the Canton of Thurgau, and from 2008 to 2009 he was President of the Grand Council. In the National Council elections in 2011 he reached second place in the CVP list and was thus elected because Brigitte Häberli-Koller , who came first, was elected to the Council of States . In the National Council, he is a member of the social security and health commissions and the editorial committee .

Lohr came as a result of thalidomide -Schädigung without arms and with malformed legs to the world. He is single and lives in Kreuzlingen.
