Kurt Egger (* 1956 ; resident in Eggersriet ) is a Swiss politician ( Greens ).

Life

Kurt Egger grew up in Wittenbach and from 1962 in his parents' cheese factory in Fischingen . After attending the canton school in Frauenfeld , he studied mechanical engineering at the ETH Zurich . Egger has been co-owner and manager of the energy and environmental consulting company Nova Energie GmbH in Sirnach since 1996 . Kurt Egger is married and lives in Eschlikon .

Kurt Egger has been a member of the Grand Council of the Canton of Thurgau since 2012 , where he represents the Greens on the business audit and finance committee.

In the national parliamentary elections on October 20, 2019 , Egger was elected to the National Council for the Greens .

Egger is President of the Greens Eschlikon and since 2015 President of the Greens Canton Thurgau. He is Vice President of the Thurgau Section of the Swiss Association of Engineers and Architects SIA , President of the Thurgau Biodiversity Initiative by Pro Natura , a member of the Thurgau Culture Commission and the Advisory Board of the Competence Center for Renewable Energy Systems KEEST and an energy advisor to the Energy Experts Thurgau EFT Association .
