Hermann Hess

Hermann Hess (born December 22, 1951 ; legal resident in Amriswil ) is a Swiss entrepreneur and politician ( FDP. Liberals ).

education and profession

Hess attended primary school and secondary school in Amriswil. Then he went to the grammar school in Frauenfeld and graduated in 1970. He then studied piano until 1976 and graduated with a diploma.

After studying at the HSG St. Gallen , he started working for the medium-sized family company ESCO . Between 1991 and 1993 he retired from the clothing business and started working in the real estate sector. In 1993 he founded the Hess Investment Group as the sole shareholder and has been converting commercial real estate so far. In 1997 he received further training in real estate economics. Hess has been Chairman of the Board of Directors and co-owner of the Swiss Bodensee-Schiffahrtsgesellschaft AG since 2007 .

Political career

Hermann Hess became a member of the FDP when he was about 35 years old. He was president of the section in Amriswil and later president of the Arbon district party . He also became Vice President of the FDP, the Liberal Canton of Thurgau. From 2012 to 2015 he represented his party in the Thurgau Cantonal Council . He was elected to the National Council in the 2015 federal elections . He resigned from this office in November 2017 and was replaced by Hansjörg Brunner .
