Thomas Birk (born July 5, 1988 in Lutherstadt Wittenberg ) is a German football player . The left-back has been playing for the Luxembourg first division club RFC Union Luxembourg since summer 2018 .

Career

In his youth, Thomas Birk played for TSV Treuenbrietzen and FC Energie Cottbus , where he started his adult career in 2007. In 2009 he moved to FC Erzgebirge Aue , where Birk came in the first and second team to a total of 38 competitive games, in which he scored two goals. With the Erzgebirge he also rose to the 2nd Bundesliga in 2010, but could not establish himself in the team in the higher league. From the 2011/12 season to the 2013/14 season he played for Chemnitzer FC . Then he moved to SV Elversberg . During the 2017/18 winter break, he joined league rivals SV Röchling Völklingen for half a year . In summer 2018 he then moved to the reigning Luxembourg cup winner RFC Union Luxembourg in the BGL Ligue .
