Thomas Engel (born December 20, 1962 in Saarbrücken ) is a German actor .

Life

Thomas Engel lives and works in Berlin. He completed his training as an actor at the Bern Conservatory for Music and Theater in Switzerland .

In addition to engagements at various theaters in Aachen , Essen , Lübeck , Hamburg and Berlin , he played in various TV productions, including: " Großstadtrevier " (ARD), "Schulz & Schulz" (ZDF), " Wolffs Revier " (SAT.1) , “ Behind Bars ” (RTL), “The Last Witness” (ZDF) and “The Game of Love and Chance” (Swiss TV, SRG). From November 16, 2009 to September 17, 2010 he played the role of Marcel Rehtaler in the Sat.1 daily soap “ Eine wie keine ” .

As a director he works mainly in cabaret and cabaret. With Ulrich Michael Heissig he has the four solo programs "Irmgard Knef - misjudged, denied, forgotten - risen from ruin", "Irmgard Knef: sister soul alone ", "Irmgard Knef: The last Mohican", "Irmgard Knef: Himmlisch" as well as various Irmgard- Specials worked out. With Christoph Marti (Ursli von Geschwister Pfister ) he developed the fictional character Ursula West in the solo programs "Ursula West: Daughter of country" and "Ursula West. With the group String of pearls he staged the program “Top Secret” at the Munich Lustspielhaus, with Caledon - The Scottish Tenors their German debut in Berlin “TIPI - the tent at the Chancellery”. Since 1998 he has directed six programs at the “Homburg Women's Cabaret”. He also works as a coach with cabaret artists and actors. As the first major music theater production he staged with UM Heissig as co-director Jacques Offenbach's La Péricole at the Stadttheater St. Gallen, Switzerland.
