Thomas Hirsch (politician)

Thomas Hirsch (born April 30, 1967 in Landau in the Palatinate ) has been Lord Mayor of Landau in the Palatinate since January 1, 2016.

Life

Thomas Hirsch completed his Abitur in 1986 at the Max Slevogt Gymnasium in Landau. From 1986 to 1989 he was a trainee inspector at the district administration Südliche Weinstrasse and studied at the University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate. In 1989 he completed his studies with a degree in administrative management (FH) . From 1989 to 1990 he worked in the district administration Südliche Weinstrasse in the environmental protection department and in the office of the district administrator. Between 1990 and 2000 he was head of the press office of the Landau city administration, from 1998 also deputy head of the main office. Hirsch has been the managing director of the financial holding Landau in der Pfalz GmbH (today: Stadtholding Landau in der Pfalz GmbH) since 2000 and of SH-Service GmbH since 2003. From 2008 to 2015 Thomas Hirsch was full-time mayor of the city of Landau in the Palatinate. In the Mayor election in 2015, he won the runoff election on June 28, 2015 with 53.2% against competitor Maximilian Ingenthron (SPD). His tenure began on January 1, 2016.

Hirsch is married and has two children. He lives in Birkweiler .

Hirsch is a member of the CDU .
