Thomas König (sports presenter)

Thomas König (born December 14, 1964 in Bregenz , Vorarlberg ) is an Austrian sports presenter at ORF .

Life

Thomas König studied law in Innsbruck and Vienna . In 1994 he became a freelancer in the sports department of the ORF regional studio in Vorarlberg, where he has been sports director since April 2005.

Moderation

König primarily comments on football games, handball games, alpine skiing races and athletics for ORF.

At the Ski World Championships in 2001 in St. Anton am Arlberg , in 2003 in St. Moritz and in 2005 in Bormio , Thomas König was a reporter for the ORF news program Zeit im Bild .

At the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin , he commented on the women's alpine skiing competitions and was one of the presenters.

As a live football commentator at major events, König was at the 2000 European Football Championship in Belgium and the Netherlands , the 2002 World Cup in Japan and South Korea , the 2004 European Football Championship in Portugal , the 2008 European Football Championship in Austria and Switzerland , the Soccer World Cup 2010 in South Africa , the Soccer World Cup 2012 in Poland and Ukraine , the Soccer World Cup 2014 in Brazil , the Soccer European Championship 2016 in France and the Soccer World Cup 2018 in Russia .

At the 2008 European Football Championship, the 2016 European Football Championship, the 2010 Football World Cup and the 2018 Football World Cup, König commented on the final, and in 2014 on the game for third place.
