Thomas Kinkade

Thomas Kinkade (born January 19, 1958 in Sacramento , California , † April 6, 2012 in Los Gatos , California) was an American painter . He referred to himself as "Thomas Kinkade, Painter of Light". He is the author of numerous images that are widely used in America. His pictures were sold, among other things, by mail order. Dozens of his works have also been published as puzzles.

Life

Kinkade grew up in the small town of Placerville , California and graduated from high school in 1976. He then attended the University of California, Berkeley and the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena . In 1982 he married his wife Nanette, with whom he had four daughters.

He died on April 6, 2012 at his Los Gatosan home of acute poisoning from an alcohol and Valium overdose.
