Thomas Reutter

Thomas Reutter (born July 19, 1967 in Mannheim ) is a German television journalist .

Life

In addition to studying political science and science in Mannheim, he worked as a freelance writer for the ARD programs Monitor , Tagesthemen and ARD-Morgenmagazin and wrote for the Frankfurter Rundschau . From 1995 to 1998 he produced reports and films as a television reporter in the SDR studio in Mannheim. From 1998 to 2013 he was an investigative reporter in the editorial team of the ARD politics magazine Report Mainz . Since 2013 he has been an editor in the "Film and Documentation" department of SWR television.

  • 2013 Stork Nest Award, International Green Wave Festival, Bulgaria for the documentary "Sunk and forgotten - nuclear waste off Europe's coasts"
  • 2015 Marler Television Prize for Human Rights for the documentary "Arms for the World - Export Out of Control" (editor)
  • 2015 Catholic media award for the documentary "Death before Lampedusa - Europe's fall into sin" (editor)
  • 2016 Grimme Prize in the "Special Journalistic Achievement" category for the ARD theme evening "Deadly Exports - How the G36 Came to Mexico" (editor)
  • 2016 Award from the German Academy for Television for the ARD / ARTE documentary film "Schattenwelt BND - How much secret service does Germany need" (editor)
  • 2018 Bremen television award in the category "most successful spectator action" for the SWR topic #Exhaust gas alarm (editorial staff)
  • 2018 media award "Children's Rights in One World" from Kindernothilfe for the ARD documentary "Disappeared in Germany - in search of missing refugee boys" (editor)
  • 2019 Deauville Green Award in Gold for "The Exploitation of Primeval Forests - Can an Eco-Seal Curb the Forest Industry?"
