Thomas Schmidt (moderator)

Thomas Schmidt (born May 25, 1957 in Iserlohn ; † October 31, 2019 in Stuttgart ) was a German radio host .

Career

After training as a social security clerk , Schmidt attended the German School of Journalism in Munich . He then worked as an editor for a union newspaper and came to Heidelberg in 1984 as a reporter for Kurpfalz Radio . From 1987 he worked at SDR 3 in Stuttgart . There he was best known for the listener hit parade Top 1000 X , moderated together with Stefan Siller .

After the merger of SDR and SWF to form Südwestrundfunk (SWR), he went to SWR3 and later switched to SWR1 Baden-Württemberg . There he moderated the program Guten Morgen Baden-Württemberg, alternating weekly with Janet Pollok and Patrick Neelmeier, and alternating with Barbara Scherrer and Stefanie Anhalt, the afternoon program . He also moderated the show headphones and, on behalf of others, Guten Abend Baden-Württemberg and Aktuell . From February 2015 he hosted the Schmidts Saturday program every Saturday morning . He was also an author for the Tiger Duck Club .

Schmidt was married and had three children. He died on October 31, 2019 at the age of 62.
