Thomas Schwab (born January 24, 1983 in Zell am See , Austria ) is an Austrian ice hockey player ( striker ) who shoots on the left. Since 2009 he has been under contract with EC Oilers Salzburg . His younger brother Mathias is also a professional ice hockey player and is under contract with EC Red Bull Salzburg .

Career

Schwab began his career in the 1999/2000 season at the age of 16 with EK Zell am See in the Austrian ice hockey league and played there until the 2003/2004 season.

With the Austrian U18 national team, Schwab achieved second place at the U18 World Cup (Division I) in 2001 .

In the 2004/2005 season he played for EC Red Bull Salzburg before returning to his home club EK Zell am See at the beginning of the 2005/2006 season. Since 2009 he has been playing for the lower class club EC Oilers Salzburg .
