Thomas Thiruthalil
Thomas Thiruthalil CM (born January 17, 1936 in Vazhakulam ) is Bishop Emeritus of Balasore .
Life
Thomas Thiruthalil joined the religious order of the Lazarists and was ordained a priest on April 14, 1963 .
Pope Paul VI appointed him Bishop of Berhampur on January 24, 1974 . The Bishop of Visakhapatnam , Ignatius Gopu MSFS , donated him episcopal ordination on May 5th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Hermann Westermann SVD , Bishop Emeritus of Sambalpur , and Ignatius Mummadi , Bishop Emeritus of Guntur .
Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Balasore on December 18, 1989 . On December 9, 2013, his resignation was granted by Pope Francis.
