Joseph Das
Joseph Das (born July 7, 1930 in Dantolinigi , India ; † August 5, 2008 ) was the Roman Catholic Bishop of Berhampur ( Brahmapur ) in the Indian state of Orissa .
Life
Joseph Das was ordained a priest on December 6, 1959 . In 1993 he was appointed second bishop of the Berhampur diocese by John Paul II . The episcopal consecration donated him on July 7, 1993 his predecessor and later Bishop of Balasore Thomas Thiruthalil CM; Co-consecrators were the Bishop of Rourkela Alphonse Bilung SVD, and the former Bishop of Guntur and later Archbishop of Visakhapatnam Mariadas Kagithapu MSFS. On November 27, 2006, his resignation by Pope Benedict XVI. granted.
