Thomas Vazhapilly

Thomas Anthony Vazhapilly (born April 11, 1940 in Peringottukara , Kerala , India ) is an Indian clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic Bishop of Mysore .

Life

Thomas Vazhapilly received on 2 December 1964, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On January 14, 2003, Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Mysore. The Archbishop of Bangalore , Ignatius Paul Pinto , donated him episcopal ordination on March 25 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Chikmagalur , John Baptist Sequeira , and the Bishop Emeritus of Mysore, Joseph Roy .

Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on January 25, 2017.
