Joseph Roy

Joseph Roy (born October 14, 1925 in Mysore , Karnataka , British India , † April 18, 2004 ) was Bishop of Mysore .

Life

Joseph Roy received on 19 December 1953, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On December 19, 1994, Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Mysore. The Archbishop of Bangalore , Alphonsus Mathias , donated him episcopal ordination on February 21, 1995 ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Madras-Mylapore , James Masilamony Arul Das , and the Archbishop of Pondicherry and Cuddalore , Michael Augustine .

On February 12, 2003, John Paul II accepted Joseph Roy’s retirement request for reasons of age.
